John Burnett has been practicing in the courts of the Kansas City area since 1978.
His law practice has included three appearances in the Supreme Court of
Missouri.
Burnett attended East
High School, Penn Valley
Community College, University of
Missouri-Kansas City, and UMKC Law
School where, in 1978, he was awarded the Juris Doctor
Degree.
Burnett is a United State Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He
served in Vietnam during 1967 and 1968 and is
a veteran of the Tet Offensive. He is a Life Member of the
Vietnam Veterans of America.
John and his wife Ingrid live in Northeast Kansas City
in the Cliff Drive
area. He currently represents that area in the Missouri House of
Representatives. Burnett was first elected to public office during the 1990’s
when he served on the Jackson County Legislature and has been a State
Representative since 2002.
